04 August 2020Steel Cutting Ceremony Begins Countdown for Malaysia’s
Heaviest and Biggest Offshore Platform
Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Berhad (MHB) held the First Steel Cut Ceremony for the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning (EPCIC) Kasawari Gas Development Project on 20 January 2020 at MMHE West, Pasir Gudang.
Signifying the start of the construction journey of the future heaviest and biggest offshore platform in Malaysia, the ceremony was graced by the presence of En Samsudin Miskon, Senior Vice President, Project Delivery & Technology (PD&T) of PETRONAS, En Noor Illias Mohd Idris, Vice President, Group Project Delivery of PETRONAS and Mr Christophe Malaurie, President, Asia Pacific, Subsea & Onshore/Offshore of TechnipFMC.
“We are writing a new page in the industry and as I mentioned earlier, this morning we clocked 310, 969 man-hours without lost time injury (LTI). For the safety at workplace, I believe we can go beyond the numbers. We want everyone to be safe and I would like to remind all parties involved in this project to be work safely.
