On Tuesday, 21 December 2021, Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Sdn Bhd (MMHE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Berhad (MHB), welcomed Seajacks Scylla when the vessel called at our yard for afloat repair.
Marking the first vessel from Seajacks UK Limited’s fleet to visit MMHE, the offshore support vessel came equipped with a 1,500-tonne leg-encircling crane, incorporated a useable deck space in excess of 5,000m², and carried over 8,000 tons of available variable load.
The major works on Seajacks Scylla included Blade Rack, Telescopic Gangway (TP) gangway, Container Sea Fastening, Tower & Platform Adaptor Installations, Galley Air Handling Unit (AHU) works, and various pipes and electrical works. Afloat repair works on Seajacks Scylla were completed and the vessel sailed out on Thursday, 13 January 2022 after its Dynamic Positioning test by the MMHE waterfront at 7.45 a.m.
Speaking on behalf of the vessel’s operator, Mr. Ross Barford, Senior Project Engineer, Seajacks UK Limited, thanked MMHE’s Team for the safe completion of the afloat repair works and timely delivery of Seajacks Scylla with zero lost-time injuries (LTI), as well as for all the assistance and services offered.
