04 August 2020Doing Our Part for National Heroes: Packed food
and PPE contributions to COVID-19 Frontliners
As a Company’s initiative to recognise the efforts and dedication performed by the COVID-19 frontline teams, MHB contributed packed meals to the medical frontliners of Hospital Sultanah Aminah and Hospital Permai, Johor Bahru. A total of 350 packed foods for each day were distributed from 1 April until 3 April 2020 for 185 and 165 frontliners respectively. In supporting our canteen operators who were affected by the suspension of MMHE operations during Movement Control Order (MCO), the packed meals were prepared by 9 canteen operators from MMHE West, Pasir Gudang.
Following our packed food contribution to national’s medical frontliners in Johor, MHB once again showed our support for the Ministry of Health, by providing personal protective equipment (PPE) for Johor medical frontliners in need of the equipment. Through this initiative, MHB contributed a total of 1,344 sets of isolation gowns and head covers and 5,000 face shields to the medical frontliners at Hospital Sultanah Aminah and Hospital Permai, Johor. Additionally, the balance of the unused material from the production of gowns and head covers was utilised by our volunteers to produce 150 pairs of shoe covers.
As our medical frontliners deserve nothing but the best, the PPE’s were made of Polyethylene (PE)-coated material, which is thicker by 30 gsm compared to the normal material, thus giving it a quality of lower liquid absorbance. This quality is crucial for the they who work in close or direct contact with the COVID-19 confirmed or suspected patients where the liquid or droplet transfer may happen at any time.
We hope that our gesture of appreciation to recognise the commitment and dedication performed by the COVID-19 frontline teams will benefit them in fighting COVID-19.
