MMHE becomes the First Shipyard
in Malaysia to own IECEx certificate
Through Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Sdn Bhd (MMHE)’s Electrical and Instrumentation Workshop, MMHE is now recognised as the First Shipyard in Malaysia that receives IECEx certificate
certified by SIRIM and the Second Shipyard in the world obtaining the IECEx certified service facility.
IECEx stands for International Electrotechnical Commission System for certification to standards relating to equipment for use in explosive atmosphere. This testimony demonstrates MMHE’s compliance with international requirement and competency in repair and overhaul capabilities. With this, MMHE can further assure clients that the safety features of hazardous area equipment asset will not be compromised throughout the repair and maintenance processes.
The official launching of IECEx Workshop took place on 15 July 2019 at MMHE West, Pasir Gudang. Gracing the ceremony was Tn Hj Basori Hj Selamat (Senior General Manager, Product Certification & Inspection, SIRIM Qas International Sdn Bhd).
