MHB marked the beginning of Pluto Water Handling Unit Project’s construction with the First Cut of Steel Ceremony which was held on 21 February 2019 at MMHE West, Pasir Gudang. Present at the ceremony were Woodside’s Mr Darren Ross (IPP Portfolio Manager) and Mr Andrew Angus (Project Manager), TechnipFMC’s Ms Valentina Gabriel (Vice President Operations, Onshore/Offshore) and Mr Mark Khokale (Senior Project Director) and MHB’s En Ahmad Zaki Abdul Malik, Chief Operating Officer.
Speaking on behalf of MHB at the ceremony, Mr Pang Meng Tak, Head of Heavy Engineering Operations, emphasised on staff’s safety practice during work to ensure that the project can be delivered safely apart from meeting the timeline given and exceeding client’s expectations.
The fabrication work is expected to be completed by December 2019, with sail away date targeted by 2020. Upon completion, the project will be delivered to install at North West Shelf of Western Australia located approximately 190 kilometres offshore West North West of Dampier, Australia.
