Encik Pandai Othman was appointed to the Board of MHB as a Non-Independent Executive Director on 1 October 2020.
Qualification, Skills and Experience
Encik Pandai Othman graduated from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), Manchester, England with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering.
Prior to joining MHB, Encik Pandai Othman was the Senior General Manager of the Integrated Hydrocarbon Management department, Malaysia Petroleum Management, PETRONAS. He has been working with PETRONAS for more than 25 years, mostly in project management field, with vast experience in engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and contract management of LNG, petrochemical, utilities and infrastructure projects dealing with multi-national consultants and contractors at various international locations. His vast experience included managing EPC, EPCM, PMC, Alliance contract at various level of management and leading a team of various multinationals. Throughout the years of experience managing projects, particularly in LNG and cryogenic facilities, he has worked closely together with major EPCC Contractors namely Bechtel, Foster Wheeler, JGC, Kellogg, Whessoe, Volker-Stevin, Chiyoda, Saipem and exposed to working on long term assignments at various international locations namely Holland, UK, Japan, US, Egypt, Germany, Australia and Malaysia. After completing the PETRONAS LNG Train 9 Project, he moved on to become the Plant Manager of PETRONAS LNG Complex (“PLC”) in Bintulu, Sarawak. PLC consists of nine LNG trains under Malaysia LNG Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia LNG Dua Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia LNG Tiga Sdn. Bhd. and PETRONAS LNG 9 Sdn. Bhd. which currently producing up to 30 million ton per annum of LNG as one of the biggest LNG production facilities in the world.
Encik Pandai serves on the boards of several subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities within the MHB Group.
